HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

This unit provides the knowledge and real-time experience required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid in almost any situation.

First Aid In the Workplace

Participants who complete First Aid Pro HLTAID0011 will meet the minimum first aid requirements in most industries.

What does this course teach you?

This course will teach you the expertise, knowledge, and techniques needed to

  • Perform CPR
  • Recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies
  • Provide first aid to victims in a variety of situations.

The course applies to anyone who may be required to perform CPR or first aid in an emergency.

Course Duration: 

Our HLTAID011 courses run approximately 3-4 hours to complete the online section (which can be done in your own time at home), followed by a 1-day in-class practical assessment (5 – 6 Hrs).

During the 5-6 hour class, participants will complete:

  • Hands-on (Practical demonstrations)
  • Theoretical assessment (scenario training)

Training sessions led by key industry experts and friendly first aid technicians, experienced people will cover all requirements, knowledge, and practical training for first aid.

*Includes your own basic first aid kit and resuscitation to mask to use and keep after the course.

*A minimum of eight participants is required to book this course as a group.

We take learning sessions in small groups. So, you get one-on-one trainer support as per your need.

First Aid Course Requirements

Since our HLTAID011 First Aid course includes both knowledge and practical elements, participants must meet the following criteria to get admitted into the session:

  • Learners will be required to provide their Unique Student Identification Number (USI) before the commencement of the course (usi.gov.au for registration).
  • Must be able to use literacy and math skills to read, interpret and apply instructions and protocols as needed. (e.g., Read and follow ARC instructions)
  • Must be physically able to perform at least 2 minutes of continuous CPR for one rescuer on a firm surface on the floor.
  • Learners must complete a series of pre-course online training modules through an online portal that may take 3-4 hrs to complete before the classroom phase of the course starts.
  • Learners need to wear comfortable attire like enclosed flat shoes, slacks, and loose-fitting shirts/t-shirts for males and females.

Support Services

This course requires a reasonable level of written and spoken English and good numeracy skills.

For this course completion, you must be able to:

  • Give a clear verbal report of the incident
  • Understand oral or verbal instructions
  • Read and understand written instructions
  •  Write first aid reports

Certification

Upon completion of the course, you will be given a Statement of Achievement confirming that you have completed the training and demonstrated proficiency in HLTAID011 Provide First Aid, including the content of :

  • HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • HLTAID010 – Provide fundamental emergency life support
  • HLTAID011 – Provide first aid.

Your First Aid Certificate is valid for a period of three years. The CPR course component is valid for 12 months and must be renewed annually for your certificate to remain valid.
